Harriman revealed over the weekend on Twitter that he captured the image of Harry and Meghan – based in Montecito, California – remotely from London using an iPad.

And in an interview with British Vogue published shortly after the couple’s announcement, Harriman detailed the symbolism of something of nature in the background of the shot.

“With the tree of life behind it and the garden representing fertility, life and moving forward, [Meghan and Harry] did not need any direction, ”revealed the participating photographer from Vogue. “Because they are, and always have been, in being rolled through life together as absolute soulmates.”

Meghan’s clothes also had a special meaning when Vogue UK pointed out that the Duchess was wearing a custom Carolina Herrera dress, which she had previously worn during her pregnancy with Archie.

The dress was designed by Wes Gordon, creative director of Carolina Herrera.

Gordon acknowledged that Meghan reshaped the bespoke dress on her Instagram story on Sunday and also congratulated the couple:

The time of the royal couple’s baby announcement also landed around a very important date for Princess Diana.

While Meghan and Harry revealed on February 14, Valentine’s Day, that they were expecting their second child, many outlets pointed out that Princess Diana announced she expected his second child – Harry – on February 13, 1984.

Due to the timing of Diana’s news, the proclamation hit newspapers on Valentine’s Day, as The Telegraph pointed out:
