Perdue ‘leans strongly’ against challenging Warnock in Georgia

“He is close to making a decision, leans strongly against it, but wants to make a decision [the] the next few weeks, ”said the adviser.

Perdue would start with a large sum in his campaign account: He had $ 5.7 million left in weeks after the runoff according to a filing with the FEC late last month.

Perdue lost by just over one percentage point in January after driving nearly 2 points ahead of Ossoff in November. Ossoff won a full term and will not be on the ballot again until 2026.

Warnock defeated Loeffler by 2 points and ran slightly ahead of Ossoff. The state will be a critical battlefield for control of the Senate in 2022: Democrats currently control the House 50-50, with Vice President Kamala Harris breaking the bond.

Also considering challenging Warnock is the former rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.), Who finished third in the special election in November.
