The wide receiver had to undergo a four-hour operation on February 16 to rebuild its left orbital plug
University of Oklahoma football player Spencer Jones is recovering from serious injuries as a result of a fight at a local college bar.
The wide receiver and three other men broke out in a fight inside the bathroom of a bar called Logies on the Corner in Norman, Oklahoma, on February 13th. While it is unclear who started the fight, the four men can be seen in one video posted to social media and throw blows at each other.
Jones nearly lost his eye during a fight, his lawyer Woodrow “Woody” Glass said OUDaily.com.

According to Glass, the doctor who performed the surgery said Jones is “extraordinarily lucky at this point that he is lucky he did not lose his eye completely,” OUDaily.com reported.
Glass added that the doctor “was able to do some things surgically to rebuild that orbital puncture and thinks that everything will eventually return to normal, but it will take a while for him to fully recover. . “
Jones’ lawyer also claimed that his client was trying to “escalate that situation.”
“But unfortunately it did not de-escalate despite his best efforts and he fell victim to this evil attack you have seen,” he added.
Glass did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
A Twitter user who identified himself as Braden Brown said he was one of the men in the video, writing, “Just to get rid of those misconceptions, I’m the guy in Beanie and that’s my brother. We are NOT wrestlers at any university, we’ve been fighting since we were in diapers and MMA / Cage Fighting since we were 12. unfortunately gave us no opportunities. We showed restraint. “
