WaPo, CNN ‘fact-checks’ silently, while Harris erroneously claims that Biden ‘starts from scratch’ when the vaccine is rolled out

That mainstream media‘s most prominent “fact checkers” have been silent about Vice President Kamala Harris‘debunked claim that the Biden administration did not inherit one coronavirus vaccine roll-out plan.

During an interview with Axio co-founder Mike Allen airing on HBO Sunday, Harris was asked about the battles in the administration’s response to the pandemic after nearly a month in office.

“There were no stocks … of vaccines,” Harris replied. “There was no national strategy or plan for vaccinations. We left it to the states and local leaders to try to figure it out. And then in many ways we start from scratch on something that has raged for almost an entire year.! “

Harris directly opposed the White House adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci’s remarks last month, in response to CNN reporting, made a similar claim.

AXIOS DELETES TWEET FACT-CHECKING HARRIS CLAIM BIDEN ADMIN ‘STARTING FROM SCRATCH’ WITH VACCINE ROLLOUT

“We are certainly not starting from scratch because there is activity in the distribution,” Fauci said during a press briefing at the White House.

Glenn Kessler, the Washington Post fact-checker who has famously kept an ongoing inventory of the false terms uttered during the Trump presidency, has not yet weighed into the statement from Harris.

FAUCI DEBUNKER CNN REPORTING SAYS BAD VACCINE ROLLOUT DOES NOT ‘START FROM SCRATCH’

Over the weekend, Kessler spent much of his time checking out former President Trump’s legal team during the trial against the Senate. One of the allegations that he was trying to verify the facts was in defense of Harris, whom the Trump team bashed to promote the Minnesota Freedom Fund last year. The fact-checking insisted that Trump’s lawyers claimed that the money raised from the fund rescued rebels, including repeat offenders, is “more complicated” than they suggested.

CNN star control checker Daniel Dale also spent the weekend fixing the Trump defense. Neither he nor the rest of the CNN fact-checking team has addressed Harris’ dismissed claim.

Perhaps for Dale and CNN, however, such fact-checking would be an unpleasant one for them to report.

AXIO’S POLITICAL REPORTERS ‘RELATIONSHIP WITH TOP OFFERED STAFF RAISES ETHICAL SIGNIFICANCE

CNN reported that Fauci shot down from the White House press room last month, quoting anonymous Biden officials, and the anti-Trump network strongly promoted its now debunked “scoop” in the air.

Neither CNN nor the Washington Post’s Kessler responded immediately to Fox News’ requests for comment.

While PolitiFact was the only prominent fact-checking that challenged Harris’ claim as “wrong”, Axios, the news outlet the vice president claimed her to, strangely un-fact-checked her by deleting a tweet referring to Fauci’s earlier remarks while you share the clip on Twitter.

Axios also did not respond to Fox News’ request for comment.

While fact-checking has been largely silent, Harris’ falsehood has been repeated as truth elsewhere. PBS NewsHour correspondent Yamiche Alcindor took the vice president at her word during her Monday appearance on MSNBC.
