Zack Snyder’s Justice League has all the attention right now after dropping its second large trailer. In the middle of it, Snyder has the answer to a question about one of his previous DC movies, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Yup, “Martha” moment is up for discussion again.

“Obviously I’m a fan of and am very interested in how ‘Martha’, this concept is central to the film,” Snyder told the YouTube tab channel I Minutemen late last week.

In Batman vs. Superman, Lex Luthor kidnaps Martha Kent, Clark’s adoptive mother. When Batman is about to kill Superman, Superman says, “Save Martha.” Batmans, also called Bruce Waynes, deceased mother’s name is Martha Wayne. This causes Batman to hesitate, and instead of killing Superman, he promises to save Martha.

“I mean, it’s 100% lynchpin that holds the whole movie together,” Snyder said. “I think it’s indicative of the way Batman vs. Superman was received that its core principle was supposed to be downplayed and ridiculed.

“I personally think it’s like this beautiful and incredibly symmetrical idea that it completes it as a concept. It’s all 100% with the intention and intention of being all the images you see, as far as their inspiration and similar. “

Snyder has explained the importance of connecting the two heroes through their mothers a few times now, but that has not stopped many from rejoicing over the Martha scene. Batman v Superman disappointed with the box office and did not impress critics.

Here is what Snyder has said before about working with screenwriter Chris Terrio on how he could prevent Batman and Superman from destroying each other.

“It’s funny, because we, Chris Terrio and I, we reached that point in the film in our discussions … we knew how to get them to fight, right? But how do you get them to stop fighting? ?

“It’s hard. And we just threw our humanity down, and Batman realized that Superman has humanity, he’s not just a creature, he’s a man – he’s an alien, but he’s as human as in many ways, he is more human than him, right? He kind of embraced all the good parts of humanity, and then Batman is able in a number of ways to see a thing that he is not. And I think that was how we started talking about it. “

We’ll see how Snyder’s four-hour directorial cut of the Justice League received when it hits HBO Max in mid-March.
